My 4-Week GHK-Cu Experiment

Why I decided to try GHK-Cu
At 52, after decades of losing and gaining weight, I noticed my skin wasn't "snapping back" the way it used to. The loose, crepey skin on my arms was becoming more noticeable, and I was curious whether GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper) could actually improve skin quality—not just in theory, but in real life.
Rather than relying on someone else's before-and-after photos, I decided to become my own experiment.
My Protocol
Peptide: GHK-Cu (Copper Peptide)
My provider → Elana Scharff, NP · Elevated Aesthetics, Portland
Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off
Length: 4 weeks
Injection sites: Rotated between my thighs and upper arms
Goal: Improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of loose, crepey skin.
My Results After 4 Weeks
I honestly didn't expect much in only four weeks.
But when I compared my before photos to my three-week and four-week photos, I noticed a visible improvement in the texture and firmness of my skin. The loose skin on my thighs (my #1 area of concern) appeared tighter, smoother, and less crepey than when I started.

Loose skin after GLP-1.

3 weeks after starting GHK-Cu.
Could this have happened without GHK-Cu? I can't say for certain. This wasn't a clinical study, and I'm only one person. But the before/after improvement is certainly undeniable.
What I can say is that I changed nothing else specifically for my skin during this experiment, and I was genuinely surprised by what I saw.
An Unexpected Bonus
One thing I wasn't looking for...
New hair growth at 52!
I've been taking oral minoxidil for a couple of years, but during this four-week experiment I started noticing dozens of tiny new hairs along my hairline. I can't prove GHK-Cu caused it, but the timing certainly caught my attention.
What I'm Doing Next
I may or may not continue indefinitely, I’m undecided at this point. What I know for sure is that I'm taking a planned two-week break before starting another four-week cycle of GHK-Cu (copper peptides).
Before I decide if I will continue beyond the next 4 week cycle I want to see whether the improvements continue, plateau, or disappear.
That's the entire purpose of Pep Talk — to share real-world experiments, document what happens, and separate hype from results.
My Takeaway
Would I recommend GHK-Cu based on four weeks?
I'm encouraged enough to keep experimenting. Would I tell everyone to run out and buy it? Not necessarily.
Peptides are exciting, but they're also an evolving area of medicine with varying levels of human evidence depending on the specific peptide and intended use. Much of the research on GHK-Cu has focused on wound healing, collagen production, and tissue repair, but more high-quality human studies are needed before broad conclusions can be made.
For now, I'm simply sharing what happened in my body.
I'll keep updating this page as the experiment continues.
